Hello,
Moving forward as the year changes from late summer into its new early autumnal days. I know we are not there yet but the signs are there with the chill of an evening and the darkness is creeping in too.
Normally for some reason I seem to panic as the glorious summer days slide away but a newness is enveloping me. There’s a certain Positivity & inner strength about me.
One of these days I’ll write something that’s not about mental health , this is another challenge. Maybe I ought to study something different or bring you the marvels of my own experiences and incredible adventures. There is an interesting or maybe not it just depends how you feel about it or how authentic I can make it. This should be easy as I only talk my own truth. Mind you I do have a creative mind, look out the future, that’s all I can say😂.Or maybe I’ll give you a little something now 😁.
This takes me way back in time and even before I met Susan my wife. I visited my friends Dave and Sue in Newquay Cornwall. I stayed with them after Traveling down on the coach . I’m trying to recall where the coach stopped and exchanged on it’s journey down there. It was quite possibly be Gloucester but i have a feeling it was further south than this. I’d have to research it .
So onto my little adventure where it takes us to Crantock Beach in which I think it’s almost like a estuary too as the tidal waters traveled inland.( Gannel estuary)
I remember this day so well as Dave and I walked our way to other little villages across the other headland across the bay. We walked our way to through the walkways of shale underfoot and gorse tickling our knees . I remember there being a field with a rather large rusty coloured inquisitive bull in it. Hmm.. it was risky being in the field as him😂. Arh.. it was a great summer’s day. A total day from my innocent heart. One of those single days of beauty and adventure and possibly nearing thirty years ago but still as fresh in my mind.
Oh the goodies of my life..💚🌟As we found our way to a quaint local old stone built cafe with an outside courtyard encrusted with wild valerian growing through the cracks and between the hand layered stones in the walls . There we sat talking about old times and new ones of course. With the warming sun in our faces and smiles as we ordered my very first locally made Cornish scone with Cornish cream and topped with slashes of strawberry jam . Simply delicious . What a taste and Cornish made scone melts in your mouth. Yummy. Something I can only dream about these days as I try to monitor what I eat in order to lose weight and gain strength.
Only a few days ago I was recalling my story to Dave as I messaged him but some of the bits Dave didn’t remember. Glory to my glorious memories then😂.
The story spices up on our journey back to Dave’s home in Gannel Veiw.
After indulging ourselves with our Cornish fancies we began our to stroll back. Hmm.. yes only to find the tide was rolling in faster than we’d hoped. In fact when we reached the edges of the beach, crantock beach side , there was a little panic in our eyes. We discussed either we walk all the way around the coastline, which is miles or we hurry up and Wade through the tidal waters. We decided to risk it for a biscuit ! The very proud moment came when we also guided six stranded teenage girls through the waist high waters.
It was a kind FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY MOMENT.
We chatted to the girls and asked them to all link hands in a kinda human chain . Our courage shone through as we could burly see our feet as we had feel our way across wooded jetty that stood there earlier that day.
This was a very proud moment and golden memory .
Why not recall your golden memories and retell to someone. Give a little of you to someone you trust. !
Life can be complicated if you overthink it . Being open and aware of where you are , trusting in YOU & your close friends will soon put a smile on your heart .
Take care
From my heart to yours
