Hello and good evening to you! . Boys and girls how are you doing? . Have you had a good day. Wow ! , it was a bitterly cold day. I’ve not known a day like it for weather. I thought it was meant to be getting warmer? 😜.
I’ve been wanting to touch base with you this Tuesday. This being the day I pulled everything around in my head. Thus settling my emotions, oh thank goodness for that. Tuesday evening was my highlight of my week, ( 5th April ) but the hours leading up where essential too. Emotionally I was getting in a tizzy. I now feel liberated and it’s a blessed feeling.Every little bit of looking into my being, how I was feeling and living . Looking at being at peace with who I am and mentally telling myself it’s all good. I’m all good. Just enjoy yourself Adrian. Your life is about enjoying you , finally rejoicing in the essence of you . Then connecting with others becomes . MAGICAL That’s my word for it anyway.
Spending so much time working on ourselves may sound selfish , but sometimes one needs to harness or feel your own sense of self .✨ As we feel better inside, our communication skills become better as we open up to those around us in a good hearted manner. ✨ Although I part listened to a podcast by Dr Rangan Chatterjee’s “ Feel Better , live more “ . The podcast #256 with Esther Perel , chat about the perfect relationship and perhaps to feel better about oneself is too get out there and communicate first. This is before you feel better about yourself. Well this is another case of judging for oneself. We are all different. We are all at different stages in our well-being and that’s sublime. That’ll do me just fine as we learn and grow .. ✨
Another thing that has helped me this week, is journaling. Releasing words from my brain, writing them down , getting them out of your system.
And this ;
One huge statement I remember reading from “ Dare to Connect “ a book by Susan Jeffers phd is, “
🌟Focus on being interested instead of interesting! 🌟.
“ This lightens everything up for me. Gosh and Smiling helps so much. Connecting in a positive manner , being happy to see someone and chat with interest. This gives you a wonderful feeling, well certainly me anyway!. It also fills your vicinity with warmth and joy. It’s an infectious vibration of goodness and everyone benefits x .
I’ve also taken up a challenge of not posting on Facebook for a while. I hope I can keep this up. I just want to live my life in a better way , more connected to me and less on distractions. it’s now seven days I haven’t posted anything, well by tomorrow! . That’s amazing for me , as I use to post something daily. Whether it be , flower of the day or one of my Grandsons or simple my delights.
I just need a change for a better connection with me. I have my friends in my daily life and they are magnificent in all there different ways.. This is truly a blessing for me and I follow their strength, light and sparkles ✨. This leads me to my own inner calm.
I feel completely liberated, it’s like a feeling of living without crutches, stabilisers . Living free , what a feeling! . Though it’s early days and somehow I’ve to try and keep the flow going. 🥰.
Moving on to something quite different! .
Horticultural Corner! .
This week has been somewhat challenging in my roll as , head gardener , head beautiful creative planting specialist. This is my passion. A passionate gardener within my own right!!
Give me plants and I’m in a new wonderland . Magic at my fingertips comes to mind!. When I’m given freedom to select plants and design them into someone’s garden I’m in heaven.
In one my long standing gardens I care for, My first job was to turn a forgotten border into a delightful space.
This border that’s been a dumping ground for leftover plants and postal delivered plants,( oh dear! ) to live quietly.
It’s a shady spot , so incredibly difficult to get right with the selection of plants already there. From hosta’s , roses, a woody photinia , all sorts of mixed shrubs. Some of them have the old cut cut out , some removed altogether. Sorry it had to be done in a more decisive way.
By adding a mix of woodland shrubs , foxgloves, ferns, fastia or caster oil plant, rhododendrons , aquilegia. By adding plenty of fresh compost and blood fish and bone fertiliser and finishing off with some leftover bark mixed into the soil . It made for a super border in the end. I’m telling you know, I’m saving the best till last. Oh my word..The biggest adventure I’ve had for a while in gardening and very testing, was planting a “ living Plant Wall” . Yes very difficult. But the challenge is now completed and I think it look pretty dam good, even if I do say so myself. Not only was it a test in the knowledge of plants and what can live in a partially shade structure of a kitchen garden. One test was how the heck was I going to get the compost into the troughs. Five troughs constructed on top of one another and unable to take them apart. Hells bells! . Just enough room to get one fist full of compost in at a time. The best of it all , I was trying to keep it tidy! . That was impossible!!! There was compost everywhere over the posh wooded slate painted bench seats. Muck and dust was beginning to form over the beautiful tiled floor.
It was a stressful time. With all three sections to complete, it was taking some beautiful time. It’s all smashing now though! It looks amazing for my very first attempt of planting a living wall. I’m pleased and proud! 💚. Oh it’s time to shut my eyes, it being 11:30 pm on this Thursday night. I’ll catch you again sooon xx
Saturday is here and I aim to give you more horticultural delight’s of the week. One is this plant called “ Dog tooth lily “ or Erythronium . A hardy spring garden perennial.
Awesome flash of colour for this time of year.
Also I love Amelanchier ,
